Battler began with a singular conviction: to curate and share the very finest pure Ceylon single-estate teas from Sri Lanka’s legendary elevation terroirs directly with discerning tea lovers across the world.
Every tin bears the certified Sri Lanka Tea Board Lion Logo — confirming 100% pure Ceylon harvest plucked from mist-shrouded Nuwara Eliya at 6,000 feet, the golden mountain slopes of Dimbula, and the lush rainforest soil of Ruhuna. From whole-leaf OPAs to artisanal Alba cinnamon chai, we preserve the unblended character of an island’s extraordinary heritage.

We founded Battler Lounge at 177, Avesta Building, Colombo 3, with a vision that had never been fully realized in the city: a space where the grandeur of Ceylon tea could be experienced not in isolation, but in harmony with exceptional food.
The result is a considered sanctuary — serene interior aesthetics, unhurried table service, and a philosophy rooted in the belief that extraordinary tea deserves equally extraordinary food as its companion. This is not a cafe. This is a luxury tea lounge.

Our kitchen is guided by a principle we hold as dearly as our teas: food should be worthy of the brew it accompanies. Gourmet brioche burgers layered with precision, artisan toasts drizzled with pure Ceylon wild bee honey, and savoury bites composed with the same care as a fine-dining course.
Alongside our tea ritual, our barista station offers ceremonial Japanese matcha, precision espresso from single-origin Arabica, and velvety Spanish lattes. Every guest finds their moment of indulgence here.

Within our lounge, a curated boutique showcases our full export collection. Guests may taste, compare, and select from single-estate varieties guided by our tea curators, then carry home the experience in our iconic embossed metallic Elephant collector caddies.
